Howdy, Julie!

Julie is an LPC working in private practice, focused on helping you heal your relationship with food, your body, and yourself. We are so thrilled to have Julie on the team. Her positivity and energetic spirit are a delight! Check out Julie’s new private practice website here.

We wanted you all to get to know her like we have and thought it would be fun to do a little Q&A session with her so you can get to know her.

The meals she is currently providing support at are: lunch and dinner on Wednesdays. She’d love to have you join her at one of those by registering on our site!

First, a little about you? How’d you get here? Why’d you choose therapy?
I completed both my Bachelors degree in Rehabilitation Studies and Masters degree in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. I have always been intuitive, a good listener, and an advocate, however due to being raised in a small rural community, I did not know counseling existed. After taking a psychology course as an elective, my passion for becoming a counselor and supporting others in their mental health journeys was ignited.

Why’d you choose to work with Eating Disorders at ThrivED Together?

I chose to join ThrivED Together in their mission because our community has needed this type of meal support to increase services provided at the outpatient level of care.

Favorite food?
Lasagna, spaghetti, alfredo, ravioli, tortellini, you name it! Pasta in any form is my favorite food.

Favorite self-care activity?
For self-care, I enjoy spending time with friends, family, and my adorable King Charles Cavalier Spaniel named Simon.

Favorite book/movie/TV show?
I love anything true crime related, and especially true crime documentaries. My favorite fiction movies are tied between all Harry Potter movies, Hocus Pocus, and Matilda.

Any hobbies?
My newest hobby includes humbly attempting to grow a variety of plants. I am still in the beginning phases, but have high hopes of becoming a plant lady.

Three words to describe you?
Loyal. Authentic. Wholehearted.

Meet Simon

Simon the Dog

Julie’s baby is her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! He is so cute that we just had to had his photo on here too. :)

If you are interested in working with Julie for individual sessions, contact her here to get scheduled.

And, don’t forget you can meet Julie at lunch or dinner on Wednesdays! We have a free meal promo so you can come to any meal and just put in the code 1FREEDROPIN when you are registering. No need for a credit card. We think you’ll enjoy the experience of eating in community with others and the relaxed, laid back atmosphere we have created.
