Greetings, Angie!

Angie is an LPC-Associate working under the supervision of Dr. Jordan Davis, Ph.D, LPC-S and Dan Clement, Ph.D, Psychologist, LMFT, LPC-S. We are thrilled that Rachael, one of our team members, told Angie about ThrivED! Her passion and desire to learn is so apparent. She’s incredibly kind, thoughtful, and always willing to help out when she can.

As we’ve done with all of our team members, we wanted you all to get to know her a little better and thought it would be fun to do a little Q&A session!

The meals she is currently providing support at are: breakfast and lunch on Mondays. She’d love to have you join her at one of those by registering on our site!

First, a little about you? How’d you get here? Why’d you choose therapy?
I am so excited to be a part of ThrivED Together. I love to meet new people and to partner in mission by creating a safe and supportive environment for everyone who joins our meals!

I chose to be a therapist after volunteering at a Hospital in Houston. After walking through the ICU and the Operating room I learned that I like to sit with people who are suffering. I love my job because it allows me to provide tools that help people cope, find healing and pursue wellness. I absolutely love what I do!

Why’d you choose to work with Eating Disorders at ThrivED Together?

The journey to recovery is a process, I understand that! So often, our struggles want to become who we are, but we are a unique individual who happens to struggle with our own unique battle. I love that ThrivED instills hope because we believe in the impact of supporting one another. I love that ThrivED fosters an environment for wellness to be pursued and that we are passionate for all individuals to blossom!

Favorite vacation spot?
I LOVED going to Seattle Washington, mainly because the coffee was so good. I would fly to Seattle just for their coffee! Fun fact, I hiked Mount Rainier and I saw a momma bear and her two cubs. That day, I learned that bear spray is a thing. Ask me about this story it’s a fun one!

Favorite food?
I love seasonal food, like soups and salads! But if I were stuck on an Island and had to choose one type of food, I would choose Thai Food.

Favorite self-care activity?
I dim the lights in my room, wrap myself in my favorite blanket, I light up a mahogany teakwood candle, and I sit on my chair and either grab a book or strum on my guitar.

Favorite book/movie/TV show?
I love to read, so much that it is hard to choose one book. I am always open to a new book suggestion. I love comedy so my favorite movie is Nacho Libre and my favorite show is The Office and Parks and Recreation.

Any hobbies?
I enjoy running, playing my guitar, and creating content for personal blog on instagram! Follow along @angiesimpleworld on IG.
